ICAAS Project Launching Conference

On March 24 2010 in Rome to the “Polo Anagnina” of the Polizia Criminale (Italian Penal State Police), an international conference for launching the Project "Italian Child Abduction Alert System (ICAAS)" will be held with the objective of establishing a “quick alert” system in the case of child abduction. The project is funded under a tender published by the European Commission Direction Justice, Freedom and Security for submitting pilot projects in the sector of child abduction.
The Project partners are the Italian SIRENE Office (which is part of the Service of International Police Cooperation of the Ministry of the Interior) as the leading structure of the partnership, the Comando Generale dei Carabinieri, the Central Authority for Juvenile Justice of the Ministry of the Interior, DAC – Anticrime Central Direction of Italian State Police, the Public Security Department - Central Directorate for Training, Telefono Azzurro and Formez.
Experts from Canada, USA and from other European countries which have already established an alert system of this type, will take part in the conference. The beneficiaries of the event are Public Security Authorities and those bodies who have shown interest in adhering to the project.
