Campobasso. Conference on 2007-2013 EU Territorial Cooperation across the Adriatic Sea
14/05/2007 - On May 14th and 15th 2007, the conference “2007-2013 European Territorial Cooperation: Planning and Partnership across the Adriatic Sea” will take place at the “Università degli Studi del Molise” in Campobasso.
This conference will be held to launch the project "AdriEurop" which is financed by the Interreg IIIA Programme and aimed at supporting some of the activities of the Adriatic Euroregion which is a partner in the programme and financed by the European Fund for Regional Devolpment (EFRD).
On May 14th, Mr Giovanni Cannata, Dean of the “Università degli Studi del Molise” and Mr Michele Iorio, Regional President of Molise and Vice-President of the Adriatic Euroregion, will open the conference. On the second day, Mr Gianfranco Vitagliano, Councillor for Planning for the Molise Region, will give the opening address. Furthermore, representatives from the Molise, Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Puglia and Abruzzo regions and the Balkan regions involved as well as delegates from the European Commission, the Ministry of the Economy and Finance and university professors will participate. Ms. Saveria Spezzano, Head of the Department of International Activities of Formez, will take part in the meeting and give an address on the Innovation and Cohesion of Central and Local Public Administrations in the Balkan region. Various topics will be discussed, among which: “Networks and Associative Bodies in the European Area”, “ The Meeting of the Agencies of Local Democracy“, “Territorial Cooperation at a Large Scale” (e.g. Matriosca Project) "The Initiative of the Secretariat for the Adriatic Sea”, “Joining Regional Programmes and Territorial Cooperation”, “The European Union Cohesion Policy”, “Outlining the Drafts of 2007- 2013 Territorial Cooperation Programmes” “The Med Programme”, “The Programme Central Europe (Cec)" and "The Ipa–Adriatico Programme”.
On the opening day the “Agreement of Partnership between the Partners of the Adrieurop Project” will be signed, while the initiative will be concluded with a round table on local development and the bottom-up approach, in the ambit of the Strategic Planning and establishment of partnerships with the Adriatic area.
