Continuous Training Days in the Public Administration: The Seventh Edition held in Granada
Training for Public Administration in Spain has experienced a meaningful qualitative and quantitative evolution in recent years, thus becoming in a very brief time, a strategic function of Spanish administrations both at central and local level.
It is no surprise that the presentation of new regulations included in the “Bylaws of Civil Servants” were introduced in the ambit of a national event which was organized by INAP (National Institute of Public Administration).
The annual event, “Continuous Training Days in the Public Administration”, in its seventh edition and held in Granada last June 28th and 29th, was dedicated to the debate on the rules which govern Public Administrations and on the key role that training plays in development and welfare of people operating in-house.
In the wonderful scenario of the Andalusian city, executives and civil servants from central, regional and local public administrations met. Participating in such an initiative was an honour for Formez. The Formez delegation came from the Cagliari branch and was committed to outlining the results of the work carried out in the ambit of the Community Programme Leonardo (EU-Forma project). Among the various partners are the Andalusian Institute of Public Administration in Seville, the European Institute for the PA in Maastricht and the Training Institute for local PA in Calarasi, Romania.
The panel realized by the Italian and the Spanish team  was entirely dedicated to the presentation of the publication Guide-lines for Training Managers from the Regional and Local Public Administrations in Europe”. From the four reports, a very interesting observation emerged about the profile of the European public trainer with its specific role and peculiar competencies at the service of innovation and integration of the organization where he or she operates. A complex and polyhedric picture in constant change, but no doubt – apart from the cultural context in which they operate – more and more strategic for a Public Administration in the search for high-quality services to be provided for the citizens and the organizational welfare for those who belong to it.
