TUNISIA - Development of a Statistic Information System for Businesses (SISE) at the National Statistics Institute

With the key objective to develop economic information and to contribute to enhancing the National Statistics System, the project aims at the following: elaboration of the global structure of a business statistical observation device and definition of a global strategy for its development; design of basic SISE instruments and strengthening of the NSI capacity in coordinating the system and application of shared standards and nomenclatures; enhancement of the NSI capacity on collection, treatment, assessment and dissemination; diffusion of the economic and business statistics according to the users' needs; elaboration of a SISE model which guarantees the production of the statistical information for business use according to the users' needs on business statistics; adjustment of standards, nomenclatures and statistical units to the international standards which are shared by the SISE partners; implementation of the national business inventory as the pivot of the information system for the sector and as key platform for the survey activities and acquaintance of the business demography; realization of surveys and exploitation of the administrative sources according to the statistical methods and techniques which are standardized at international level; production of statistical information on businesses with reference to the various aspects of business activities and other fields; improved diffusion of the statistical information on businesses; improved management of SISE data.
