Protected Areas- Managing Protected Areas

The training course on the thematic guide-lines for Protected Areas in the ambit of the Balkans 2 project was embarked on in Sali, on the island of Dugi Otok in Croatia. The beneficiaries of the activities are officials and executives from the central and local Croatian Public Administrations involved in the management of Protected Areas. The first module was an occasion to share experiences between Italy and Croatia with regard to Protected Areas. In particular, the themes dealt with concern Rete Natura 2000, the Management Plan of the Natura 2000 sites, the Park Plan and Regulations, the socio-economic development plan as well as the management of a marine park and the possibility for local development in protected areas. The presentation of LIFE+ and IPA programs, the instruments for assistance to pre-accession, are foreseen and this could represent and opportunity for funding to Croatia. The training course in Croatia foresees the collaboration of Mr. Alessandro Bardi and Mr Matteo Magaudda (Temi srl – Rome). Durata: 3 days
