Naples: Overview of the National Seminar "Trans-national Cooperation in the Mediterranean 2007-2013"
On March 27th 2008, the national information seminar “Trans-national Cooperation in the Mediterranean 2007-2013" was held in Naples.
Mr Carlo Neri, Coordinator of the Area International Relations and ROP EFRD Managing Authority, opened the conference together with Hon. Antonio Valiante, Vice President of the Campania Region and Councillor for Mediterranean Policies who introduced Territorial Cooperation in 2007-20013 and the MED Programme respectively, with an emphasis on the innovative instruments adopted in comparison with the previous planning period.
Ms Carmela Cotrone, National Coordinator of the MED Programme, presented the programme framework and its instrumental and operational aspects.
Councillor Lagella, DGIE/Ministry of Foreign Affairs, followed with a speech on the integration of cooperation instruments with Third Countries and the IPA and ENPI instruments with the MED Programme.
Ms Rossella Rusca, Coordinator of the Strategic Group Objective 3, described in details the programme framework and more in general, territorial cooperation, NSF and ROP programs.
Mr Cervelli, Coordinator of the Joint Technical Secretariat of the programme, and Ms Pisanello, Head of the STC Project, presented technical and operational aspects with reference to the candidature procedures ranging from the methods for establishing partnerships to the project evaluation procedures and criteria.
Mr Giuseppe Ruotolo, functionary from the Area Study and Management of EU Project of the Campania Region, concluded the conference with remarks about the cataloguing work carried out by Formez as well as the elaboration of an ad-hoc database for collecting the technical questions on the MED Programme which have been forwarded to the National Contact Point. He also coordinated the final section of the Seminar dedicated to discussion between participants and speakers.
The conference was concluded with an address by Mr Mariano Marchetiello, Executive of the Area Study and Management of EU Project of the Campania Region.
The participants registered at the event were numerous, approximately 400 people.
