On April 20th, the kick-out meeting of the Twinning Project “Strengthening of State Supervision and Monitoring System of Exposure to Electromagnetic Fields” was held at the Voivodship Sanitary-Epidemiological Station in Warsaw. The project involved the Italian Ministry of Health, ARPA Toscana, ARPA Piemonte, INAIL, ISPESL, the Tuscany Region and Formez.
The event ended with a ceremony in which Mr Jan Orgellebrand from the Polish Chief Sanitary Inspectorate, Mr Michal Targowski from the Department for Environmental Health and Ms Monica Paganelli from the Italian Ministry of Health, took the floor. Subsequently, the two project leaders, Mr Gaetano Licitra (ARPAT) and Ms Joanna Palczynska-Okrasinska, as well as Mr Domenico Marchese, Resident Twinning Adviser, and Ms Dott. Halina Aniolczyk, Deputy Proejct Leader, held a speech. The meeting was chaired and coordinated by Ms Katarzyna Kitajewska, Senior Project Officer from the Polish Chief Sanitary Inspectorate.
The guiding thread of all speeches was the reciprocal fulfillment for the quality of the work carried out and the results achieved, the liaisons established and the numerous future perspectives. Fulfillment was also expressed with regard to the achievement of all project benchmarks for the drafting of a Paper of Procedures: “Implementation of EC Directive 40/2004: Best Practices on Benchmarking and Evaluation of the Exposure to Electromagnetic Fields in the Work Environment”, the acquisition of benchmarking tools to be used on electromagnetic fields and training for the personnel at central and local level on the implementation of tools and methods for benchmarking.
Furthermore, special appreciation was expressed on the study tour which was held in Italy at INAIL, ISPESL, APAT e ARPA Toscana in November.
In particular, Formez received many thanks for the way the institute played its role of financial manager and that of organizational-logistic support for the project activities.
This is the last of three projects which have been realized in collaboration with the Polish Chief Sanitary Inspectorate. The kick-out meeting was an occasion for stating the excellent relationships between the administrations involved and the concrete intention of future collaboration.
