A New Cooperation Project with the Turkish Ministry of Finance has been assigned to RGS and Formez

The EU Twinning Project under IPA (Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance) entitled "Improving Data Quality in Public Accounts" with the Turkish Ministry of Finance as the key beneficiary, has been assigned to the State Department  for General Accounting in collaboration with Formez.
The project which naturally continues the initiative included in the previous concept entitled "Capacity building for the compilation of accounting data in all institutions and agencies within general government sector in the context of e-government" (already implemented by RGS), aims at supporting the Turkish Ministry of Finance in the production of financial accounts and statistical prospects related to the Public Administration sector, in consistency with the acquis communautaire as well as the European System of Accounts (ESA95) and the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).
The key objective of the project will be to increase the level of transparency and accountability in the financial management of the Turkish State through the enhancement of data quality as produced by public accounts.
The project whose activities will commence as soon as the Twinning Contract will be defined and undersigned by both parties, has a duration of 18 months and a budget of 1.575.000 euros, thoroughly financed by the European Union. The project activities will be implemented by experts qualified in the various topics regarding the different Inspectorates and will be coordinated by the Service for Departmental Studies of the State General Accounting (Office II).
Formez will contribute toward the realization of the project through the organization of training activities aimed at the officials from the Turkish Ministry of Finance.
