Presenting the EuroPA Projects to the Tunisian Development Agencies

Under the training workshops implemented through the Twinning Project Tunisia “Institutional Building of Regional Development Agencies for the Promotion of Private Investment”, on July 1 and 2 two Formez experts were hosted by the Ministry for Development and International Cooperation in Tunis to present the experience gained under the  “EuroPA” projects which were funded by the Italian Department for Public Administration and managed by Formez.
Employees from CGDR (General Committee of Regional Development) and the Tunisian regional development agencies took part in the event.
On the opening session, Mrs Claudia Salvi from Formez outlined the EuroPA project and the related experiences ranging from the initial Passnet programme embarked on in 1998, to the most recent WEB EuroPA 2006 project.
On the following one-day session, Mrs Alessandra Tuzza described the activities of the Eurokom Association in Gioiosa Ionica which initially was the beneficiary of the EuroPA activities and which since May 2005 has hosted a European Information Relay of the “Europe Direct” network under a project financed by the European Commission Representation in Italy. Afterwards, Mrs Tuzza outlined some of the key initiatives, namely the collaboration with the Italian Committee for Refugees as the partner dealing with the management of an inter-province project financed by the Calabria Region and entitled “Incontro tra culture” (Encountering Cultures). The initiative aimed at fostering the values of inter-culture and of the European rights for migrants. Furthermore, the association, as a partner of the project, carried out actions of technical assistance to public and private bodies with reference to the projects funded by the Structural Funds of the 2000-2006 ROP Calabria. In particular, it provides technical assistance to the drawing up of the projects.
