The New Frontier of Formez: The Institute Embarks on a Project in Syria

15/07/2006 - Formez in consortium with the International partners Planet SA (Greece) and BCEOM (France) has just started the EuropeAid project Institutional Modernization and Capacity Building” in the Syrian Arab Republic".
Since the Mediterranean countries represent the new frontier of the international activities of Formez, the institute is very pleased to participate in the Syria project which acts as a launching pad for a greater collaboration with MEDA countries.

The project activities officially began on June 15th while the project kick-off meeting was held on Thursday, the 22nd of June in the presence of the contracting authority in Damascus.
The overall value of the project is 2,193,760 euros and its duration will be 24 months.
Ms Saveria Spezzano will represent Formez as a member of the Management Board, while Ms Lucia Santuccione has been nominated as deputy member.

The project aims to carry out institutional development activities with three key economic agencies (Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economy & Trade and the State Planning Commission) to assist these agencies to fulfil their role in a social market economy. The project  will provide training activities for top managers to direct re-organization and improve internal structures, including the utilization of job descriptions and a human resource management system for Public Administration. The contracting authority is the State Planning Commission of Ibn Nafis, Roukun El Din, Damascus, Syrian Arab Republic.
