ESTONIA - Rising Awareness on Exposure Based Risk Assessment of Chemicals

 
Medium-term objectives:
As required by the project fiche, the overall objective of this twinning project is:

  • To control the risks posed by chemicals to health and environment
  • This overall objective will be achieved by:

·        Providing institutional support to the Estonian relevant governmental institutions responsible for risk assessment and management of chemicals according, to the REACH regulation and the EC directives on the assessment of the effects of certain plans and programmes on the environment to protect health and environment.
 Actions:

  • The personnel of beneficiary institutions are skilled to evaluate and carry out strategic environmental assessments;
  • The personnel of beneficiary institutions are skilled on risk assessment and management of chemicals and ready to fulfil their tasks regarding REACH regulation;
  • Trained trainers available at Ministry of Social Affairs, Ministry of Environment, Chemicals Notification Centre, Health Protection Inspectorate to further train public administration, NGOs and private organizations on Strategic environmental assessment, risk assessment of chemicals according to REACH regulation and evaluation of the substance dossier and identifying uses and compilation of SDS
