Sudgest – An Iraqi Delegation is visiting Rome for a Training Programme

04/10/2006 - From September 28th – October 4th, a delegation, comprising institutional and technical representatives from the Iraqi province of Dhi Qar will be in Rome for work shops organized under the Project for Technical Assistance and Support to Local Governments promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – DGMM. The delegation is headed by the President of Provincial Councils, Mr. Ishan Talib Saleh.

This initiative is organized by Sudgest, a public company of the Formez Group, which has for more than two years, aided the Iraqi provincial administrations in the reorganization and planning of sustainable development projects.

The specific arguments to be examined are the training and organization of a team comprising qualified technicians and local professionals who will work, in coordination with Sudgest, on some of the on-going projects.
Among these will be:
-assistance to municipal city council representatives for the development of local projects
-the realization of a data bank of small integrated development projects to propose to the Italian regions in view of possible partnerships
-the formation of a Training Centre for professionals able to promote new jobs in the area
-a feasibility study for a new village in the marshland area which would permit the relocation of the peoples dispersed during the Saddam Hussein regime.
