BALKANS 2 - Development and Strengthening of Local and Central PAs

 
Medium-term objectives:

The “Balkans 2 Project – Development and Strengthening of Local and Central Public Administrations in the Balkan Area” aimed at 6 Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro) is the continuation of the activities already started and partially developed with the Balkans 1 project which was carried out from November 3rd to December 2004.
The objectives are the strengthening, modernization and qualification of central and local Public Administrations in the Balkan countries where the intervention takes place.
 
The topics chosen under the project are the following:
·                     Protection and evaluation of the Cultural Heritage
·                     Civil Protection
·                     Management of protected areas and natural parks
·                     Communications for the Public Administrations
 
Actions:

  • A training course in each beneficiary country including training classes on the themes selected by administrations as well as project work practice
  • Elaboration of a Project Work for each group of learners 
  • Internships by Italian Public Administrations which are similar to those of origin
  • Trans-national workshops
  • Activities of long-distance support and virtual communities through the project website www.balcani.formez.it to which access is also available through the Formez website
